Hunger is everywhere, but it affects more people right here in our St. Louis community than you might expect — on average about 1 in 6 people. Whether people go completely hungry, or they face something called "food insecurity", making an impact by ensuring our community is happy, healthy, and fed is important to us here at Hope Church. We believe our new Free Grocery Store can restore people's dignity while helping them with the the food they so desperately need. Combat Community Hunger
Hunger in our community is always present, but between the COVID-19 pandemic, the inflation, and the availability of food, many people go hungry. Feeding America estimates that more than 50.4 million people will face some sort of food insecurity in a year. As members of the St. Louis community, we can help combat hunger by donating or volunteering at food pantries. At Hope Church we don’t want anyone in our community to wonder where they’re going to find their next meal. For this reason we offer local outreaches including our Free Grocery Store.
Feeding St. Louis for More Than 30 Years
Hope Church has been feeding the St. Louis community through our food pantries for the last 30 years! It was designed to feed not only our church members, but also our community. We are proud to have volunteers and donations from all over the state! It has now grown to become the very first Free Grocery Store in St. Louis. Helping People Help People
At Hope Church, our Food Outreach programs are more than just feeding people. We also want to provide our community members with the resources they need to help others and also regain dignity. Making a Difference
Hope Church is proud to be able to provide a solution to food insecurity to our community members. In 2020 & 2021 combined, we were able to serve over 1,400,000 pounds of food to people in the St. Louis community. We hope to continue to be able to feed even more people as our program gains recognition.
